New Free App Helps Ohio Teens Practice Driving Safely
Ohio just launched a new free app called RoadReady Ohio to make it easier for teens with a learner’s permit to practice driving and track their required hours.
What the App Does

Tracks Practice Hours: Teens need 50 hours of driving practice before taking their license test. The app logs all driving time automatically.

Gives Driving Feedback: After each drive, the app scores braking, turning, acceleration, and speed. It also gives tips on how to improve for the next drive.

Creates Official Logs: Once the 50 hours are done, the app can send the practice log straight to the Ohio BMV so you don’t have to keep paper records.
Why It Matters

Safer Driving: Most teen crashes are caused by inexperience. The app helps families make practice time more effective.

First in the Nation: Ohio is the first state to add telematics (driving-behavior tracking) to this type of app, making practice more like real-time coaching.
